Gameplay Guide

How new players should start

Peptype is a browser extension game where everyday online activity becomes gameplay. According to the official documentation players create a Typer, generate energy through typing, complete raids, and earn loot boxes with customization items.

Install the Extension

The first step is to install the Peptype browser extension. The documentation states that players should visit the official Peptype website, click Play Peptype or Install Extension, and complete the setup through the Chrome Web Store.

After installation, the Peptype icon appears in the browser toolbar, showing that the extension is ready to use.

Peptype is currently designed for modern Chromium-based browsers, including Google Chrome, Brave, and Microsoft Edge.

Complete the First Launch Setup

On first launch, Peptype starts a short onboarding flow that creates a user profile and initializes the in-extension wallet. The documentation says players can begin by choosing one of the available login methods: X, Google, or MetaMask.

After authentication, setup continues with email verification. The documentation state that the user enters an email address, receives a one-time verification code, and enters that code inside the extension.

Once verification is complete, the extension automatically creates an in-extension wallet and the resulting wallet address is shown for funding. According to the documentation , a new private key is generated locally, encrypted, and stored on the client side. After that, the profile is initialized and the dashboard becomes available.

Mint Your First Typer

The documentation states that after setup, the next step is to mint your first Typer. This is the core in-game character and the starting point for progression inside the Peptype ecosystem.

For a new player, minting a Typer is the real start of the game. It gives access to the main gameplay loop, including energy generation, upgrades, raids, and reward systems.

Core Loop

Activity, Energy, and upgrades

Understand the Core Gameplay Loop

Peptype's beginner loop is simple: stay active in the browser, generate energy, and use that energy to progress. The official documentation describes the extension as tracking activity such as typing, clicking, and general page interaction while the on-screen Typer remains visible across supported websites.

For new players, the most important thing to understand is that Peptype is designed as an always-on progression system. Instead of playing only in isolated sessions, normal browser activity becomes part of the game.

Generate Energy Through Typing

Energy is one of the most important resources in Peptype. The documentation defines it as a core in-game resource used for progression and active gameplay. It is generated through typing activity while the browser extension is active and the player has an active Typer.

The docs also state that energy can only be spent on two main actions: upgrading and leveling up a Typer, or sending a Typer on raids.

Each Typer can generate only a limited amount of energy per day. Once the daily limit is reached, the player must wait until the next day to generate more, unless the Typer levels up and refreshes that limit.

Use Energy to Upgrade Your Typer

Upgrades are the main progression system for new players. The official documentation states that each upgrade increases a Typer's level by +1, takes time to complete, costs energy plus tokens, and refreshes the Typer's daily energy limit after completion.

The docs also highlight milestone bonuses. When a Typer reaches levels 5, 10, 20, and 30, it gains +1 maximum energy automatically.

Learn How Rarity Affects Progress

Peptype includes rarity as part of the progression model. The documentation states that rarity affects the probability of obtaining a Typer, the efficiency of energy generation through typing, and starting advantages.

Higher-rarity Typers require fewer interactions to generate energy, which means rarity can significantly affect long-term efficiency for a new player. As example Common Typer requires 10,000 typing actions for 1 energy, while a Legendary Typer requires 5,000 typing actions for 1 energy and also gains 1 additional energy.

Rewards and Comfort

Raids, loot boxes, and playability

Unlock and Use Raids

Raids are one of the first major reward systems new players should learn. The documentation describes raids as time-based activities where a Typer is sent to explore locations and earn rewards.

At the beginning, access is limited. As the Typer levels up and gains more available energy, higher raid levels become available.

Raid rewards may include points, loot boxes, and tokens, although not every reward type is guaranteed on every run. Note that higher raid levels increase both the chance of receiving a loot box and the chance of obtaining a rarer tier loot box.

Follow the Progress Tracks

Beyond the main loop, Peptype gives new players several structured progress tracks. The Getting Started page lists Tasks and Quests, Invite System, and Achievements as key parts of long-term progression.

For a new player, this makes them one of the clearest ways to understand what to do next after the initial setup is complete.

Earn Loot Boxes and Customize Your Typer

Loot boxes are one of the main reward layers in Peptype. The documentation states that raids can reward loot boxes, and loot boxes contain customization items used to change and upgrade the look of a Typer.

The Getting Started page also explains that Peptype includes item sets, where equipping four item categories of the same tier unlocks raid bonuses.

Adjust the Overlay and Play Comfortably

The on-screen Typer overlay can be customized. The documentation states that players can change the overlay size to S, M, L, or XL, choose its position, or disable the overlay entirely on websites.

This is useful because it allows the game to fit more naturally into daily browsing without disrupting the regular browser experience.

Understand the Privacy Model

Peptype's documentation explicitly states that keystrokes are not recorded, text input is not read or stored, and form data, messages, and browsing content are not collected.

Only abstract interaction events are counted to power gameplay mechanics like progression and passive actions.

Focus on the Right Beginner Priorities

For new players, the clearest first priorities are: install the extension, complete onboarding, mint the first Typer, begin generating energy through typing, and use that energy to unlock early upgrades and raids.

Peptype is easiest to understand when approached as a long-term browser-native progression game. The more consistently a player stays active, the more efficiently the core gameplay loop begins to open up.
